Terms of Service

Last updated: 24 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Rukh. They are written to be read: what you get, what you pay, and what we both agree to.

1. Who we are

Rukh (rukh.cc) is operated by Paul M Kallarackal, an individual based in India ("Rukh", "we", "us"). We are not a registered company. You can reach us at support@rukh.cc (opens in a new tab).

By using the website, the free preview or the paid coach (together, the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What Rukh is

Rukh is an AI chess coach for players on chess.com. It reads your public chess.com games, finds moments you rushed, and talks you through better moves. Moves it suggests are checked by the Stockfish chess engine.

Coaching is guidance, not a promise. We do not guarantee that your rating will rise or that every explanation is complete. The coach is built on an AI language model, which can make mistakes, so check anything important yourself. It is informational and is not professional, financial, medical or legal advice.

3. The free preview and the waitlist

The preview lets anyone look up a chess.com username and see a quick look at that player's openings. It uses public games only, needs no account, and saves nothing to a profile. Because it uses public data, anyone can look up any username. Please do not use it to harass or target other people.

Joining the waitlist means you give us your email so we can tell you when trials open. You can leave the list at any time by emailing support@rukh.cc (opens in a new tab).

4. Who can use Rukh

The website, free preview and waitlist are for people aged 13 or over. If you are under 18, you may use Rukh only with the consent of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use. In India, the law treats anyone under 18 as a child for data purposes, and we handle their data as the Privacy Policy describes.

A paid subscription must be bought by a person aged 18 or over, or by a parent or guardian for a young player. You must be able to form a binding contract where you live.

5. Your account

The paid coach needs an account. Give us accurate information, including a working email address. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, do not share your account, and tell us at support@rukh.cc (opens in a new tab) if you think someone else is using it. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

6. Subscriptions, free trial and renewal

The coach is sold as a subscription, billed monthly or yearly at the price shown on the pricing page when you subscribe. Prices are shown in US dollars or Indian rupees. Local taxes, where they apply, are added by our payment processor and shown before you pay.

Free trial. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. You must give a card, or set up a UPI Autopay mandate in India, to start it. We charge nothing when the trial starts. Unless you cancel before it ends, your payment method is charged the price of your plan when the trial ends, on the date shown at checkout. We send a reminder email before that. One free trial per person.

Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and your payment method is charged, until you cancel. By subscribing you authorise these recurring charges.

Early-bird price. Waitlist members may get a lower price for the first year of their plan. After that, the regular price applies and we tell you before it does.

Price changes. If we change the price of your plan, we email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. It applies from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.

Failed payments. If a payment fails, the payment processor retries it for a short grace period. Your access may be paused if the payment cannot be collected. UPI and Indian card renewals can take up to about two days to confirm, and access continues while they do.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from the customer portal or by emailing support@rukh.cc (opens in a new tab). You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. See the refund and cancellation policy.

Refunds. You can get a full refund within 7 days of any charge by asking. The details are in the refund and cancellation policy.

7. Payments and merchant of record

Our order process is run by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. Dodo Payments is the seller of record for your purchase, processes your payment, collects and pays applicable sales tax, VAT or GST, issues your invoice, and handles refunds and payment disputes. Your card statement or bank record may show Dodo Payments. Your purchase is also subject to Dodo Payments' own terms for buyers, shown at checkout.

We do not see or store your full card number or UPI details. See our Privacy Policy.

8. Acceptable use

You agree to follow our Acceptable Use Policy. In short, use Rukh lawfully and for your own chess improvement, do not use it to cheat against other players, and do not attack, scrape or resell it. We may apply fair-use limits and may suspend an account that breaks these terms.

9. Your content and our content

Your content. This is the messages you send the coach, any voice you speak to it, and feedback you give. You keep your rights in it. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, process and use it, and to send it to our service providers, only as needed to run and improve the Service for you. Your chess games belong to you and your opponents and are hosted by chess.com. You promise that you may share what you send us.

Our content. Rukh, its design, text, software and the coaching it produces for you belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service while you follow these terms. You may use the coaching output for your own learning. Do not copy or resell the Service. Stockfish is open-source software released under its own licence.

If you send us feedback, you allow us to use it to improve the Service without paying you.

10. Third-party services, AI and trademarks

Rukh reads public game data from chess.com and relies on third-party providers, listed on our subprocessors page. We are not responsible for their services, and they may change or fail.

AI output. Explanations and replies are written by an AI language model and checked against the Stockfish engine where they name moves. They can still be wrong or incomplete. Treat them as study material, not as fact, and do not rely on them for anything beyond improving your chess.

No affiliation. Rukh is an independent product. It is not made, sponsored or endorsed by, or affiliated with, chess.com, Lichess or the Stockfish project. Chess.com, Lichess and Stockfish, and their logos, are trademarks or names of their respective owners. We use them only to say what Rukh works with. If you use a chess site, you must also follow its own rules.

11. Availability and changes

We are a small team, and the Service is early. It may have bugs, change, or be unavailable at times. It depends on third parties, including chess.com's public data, our hosting and payment providers and an AI model provider. We may change, add or remove features. If a change is materially worse for paying subscribers, we will tell you and you can cancel and be refunded for the unused period. If we end the paid Service, we will refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.

12. Warranties and liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or any consumer right you have that cannot be waived.

13. Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover reasonable losses we suffer from a claim by a third party that arises from your breach of these terms or your unlawful use of the Service. This does not apply to consumers where the law forbids it.

14. Ending your use

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by emailing support@rukh.cc (opens in a new tab). We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we have to by law. If we end your paid access without a breach by you, we refund the unused part of the period you paid for.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Resolve it with us first. Write to support@rukh.cc (opens in a new tab) and give us 30 days to fix the problem. Most issues end here. For a data complaint, use the Grievance Officer in the Privacy Policy.

Courts. If we cannot resolve it, the courts having jurisdiction in India have jurisdiction, except where your local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own country. Arbitration is not required.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for material changes, email subscribers at least 14 days before the change applies. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then and ask for a refund of any unused period.
